Bed base too large to be delivered!
What happens if the bed is too big to be delivered?
Yesterday (21/2/20) Bedlam Beds delivery team had a situation where we were unable to deliver a single divan bed base to a customer, because their stairwell was too small.
The house is very old and the bed base that we removed had a 'sprung edge' top as opposed to a 'platform top'. The 2-3" of springiness of the old base gave just enough 'give' to allow it to be removed, but the new one became stuck.
Fortunately we are able to have single divan bases manufactured in half or even quarters, for a double or larger. The 2 smaller pieces will make delivery possible.
The new base will be ordered and delivered next week and the customer happy!
As a note, please remember that if you need a King sized or Super King sized mattress and access is difficult, it's possible to buy a split mattress that is zipped together. (This is what most hotels and guest houses do to give the option of one large bed or two smaller beds.
